A Change Is Gonna Come......

Yes it will and yes it already has! I am in awe of how we all came together as a nation last Tuesday, stood up and made a CHANGE! I have never seen such excitement as we all screamed, cried, hugged, high fived and chanted "YES WE CAN and YES WE DID!" What an amazing night!
A funny coincidence is that on that very day I received my FIRST New York State drivers license! I have managed to hold on to my Texas one for the last 6 years while living in NY, but it is now official. I am a New Yorker. :)

NEW MUSIC UP!!

Hello Beautiful People,

I am so happy to announce that the song I wrote with Carole King and Charlie B. entitled "Warm With You" is now up on my Facebook and Myspace pages for your listening pleasure! Along with it I have also posted a newly recorded version of "Words" and two more new songs "The Letter" and "Dig Deep"!!

As most of you know, I have been back in the studio with producer Dan McLoughlin (The Push Stars) recording these songs and am very excited for all of you to hear them. Also, Jay Barclay played some rad guitar on "Words" and "Dig Deep". They have a little bit more of an alt. country/acoustic feeling to them, which is the sound that I am really feeling at the moment.I hope you enjoy them and will keep you up to date about when they will be available for purchasing.

Much love and happiness,
Brianna Sage

"in My Hands" Reviews

Hey Guys,

I just wanted to post a couple of my favorite reviews I received for my album "In My Hands." The first one is from an online music magazine Smother.net:

"Funky female singer/songwriter Brianna Sage is a great showwoman in a genre that’s bloated and confined to some extent. She breathes life into poignant lyrics that challenge what you’d expect a woman to sing about. I only wish that when people close their eyes and think of female singer/songwriters the image of Brianna Sage would come to forefront immediately instead of some of the lame “artists” that the major labels throw at us—yes I’m talking about you Avril."
- J-Sin, Smother.net

The other is from one of my favorite music websites Starpolish.com:

"Hailing from Brooklyn, 20 something Brianna Sage can be found playing all the local spots in NYC pretty regularly. Citing Jackson Browne, Sarah McLachlan, and Madonna as influences, the young singer-songwriter plays acoustic rock music that actually rocks. In Never Have Your Love the verses are calm and her angelic voice soothes, but during the chorus its tone changes to a plea and leaves me feeling her melancholy. And really, what else can you ask for from a musician. Regarding her song Words; "Words is the song that represents me the most. It's something different. It's what I wanted--- something that stands out." And, Brianna Sage is ready to do just that. " - Starpolish

Welcome!!!

Welcome to the NEW Brianna Sage Blog!! I am so excited to have a place where I can post all my ideas, reviews and musings! Please check back frequently to see what's going on!

This morning I watched the NYC Marathon as they were running along 4th Avenue in Brooklyn. It was so inspiring to not only see these dedicated people hitting the 8 mile mark on their 26 mile run but to see all of the people braving the cold to cheer them on! I love New York City!
